Last Sunday River Walk – 6 miles
February 27, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Sutter’s Landing River Walk … Come out and walk with us: Sunday, February 27th @ 8:30am!
It is THAT TIME AGAIN …
Every “Last Sunday of the Month”, rain or shine, we plan to meet at Sutter’s Landing Park, once again back under the solar panels, for a lovely 6 mile walk along the American River. Up on the levee, we have a route that is primarily car- and bike-free, where we can spread out and walk without worry! Please note, let’s keep our four-legged friends home for this walk; service dogs are welcome.
This is a free event and open to everyone interested in the Camino! It a monthly opportunity to meet with other Sacramento Area Camino enthusiasts, ask questions about upcoming walks or routes, test out gear, reminisce, mentor new walkers, learn about upcoming chapter events, and continue to cultivate the Camino camaraderie here at home! New walkers and returnees … all are welcome!! Camino returnees, please come out and share your knowledge and experience with those preparing for their first Camino!!
Bring water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, and appropriate shoes and/or gear for your six mile walk along the gravel levee. If it looks like rain is in the forecast, bring your rain ware and test it out! Feel free to bring your pack and/or poles, or any gear you’d like to test out.
Note: Weather permitting, we will have our super special “Donativo Stand” at the halfway mark!! Drinks, sweet and savory snacks and a chance to socialize before heading back!
We will meet under the solar panel parking structure by 8:15am with our walk starting promptly at 8:30am. Entrance to this park is FREE, as is the plentiful parking.
Sutter’s Landing Park is at the end of 28th Street in downtown Sacramento. Turn down 28th Street, going past Stanford Park at 28th and C, and continue towards A Street. You will go up and over the railroad tracks … and into this lovely regional park. The solar panel parking structure will appear on your right soon after you enter the park. We will be waiting for you there!
**HINT: If using Google Maps to find the park, put in “Sutter’s Landing DOG PARK”. The solar panel parking lot is to the right after you enter the park, the dog park is to the left.
**NOTE: unfortunately, due to insurance reasons, let’s leave our four-legged friends home for Sac Pilgrims events. Service dogs are permitted.
See you at 8:30AM to walk along the American River!!
