Loop the Lagoon (Vacaville): 6 mile loop

Join Sacramento Pilgrim Hike Leader Robert Freitas on Saturday, December 7th at 9am in the parking lot of the Three Oaks Community Center.

Visit Vacaville’s beautiful Lagoon Valley during this six mile, three hour hike.  With heavy development planned in the near future, this may be your last chance to see this area free from homes, businesses, and traffic.  The path is generally paved roadway (very little traffic) with two short sections of single-track hillside trail.  While most of the trail is flat, there is a very steep half-mile, 400’ elevation gain section near the beginning which is reminiscent of the approach to Orrison from St Jean-Pied-de-Port, France.  It is a great place to test out your choice of footware and walking poles!

Restrooms and water sources are available in multiple locations on the route.

Meet in the parking lot (free) at the Three Oaks Community Center (1100 Alamo Drive, Vacaville, CA) at 9am.  Traffic on the I-80 corridor can get heavy, so plan accordingly.
